I really love the NCAA basketball conference tournaments. Just a load of great games and fierce competitors. The big east and ACC are always the two best, but all the other big conferences are decent as well. I'll give some props to the mid-majors and small conferences because those kids still show up and give it there all for a shot to make it to the big dance.
If you ever get a chance, you need to attend one of the big ones. Big east or ACC. Big Ten, SEC and Big 12 would be good, but without the history of the other two. I went to the ACC tourney a few years ago and was hooked. The fans were crazy like at college football games and after the games, the fans sold their ticket packages to the winning teams fans. Just good stuff all around.
Next week made me thing about the 5 best weeks in sports. Weeks where there is great action for gambling and sports entertainment.
#5 New years day. I love college football, but most bowls are a little bit of a bore. There is always a gem every year, but who can watch everyone to find out which one its going to be? Still a great week with tons of possible action.
#4 NFL conference championship weekend. Two huge games in the NFL. Can it get better?
#3 The above mentioned week. I just love it. Real games with real rivalries. Plus they play games on Thursday afternoons.
#2 First week in December. Conference championship games in football, plus NFL is at its peak. And if you didn't get enough action there, you have the NBA an NHL as well.
#1 First week of NCAA tournament. More college basketball than you can shake a stick at. Plus everyone in the world has money on the tourney. Action galore!
