NBA All-Star Weekend

Can you even believe the let this game go to Vegas this year? The number of groupies/hookers/strippers that are being shipped in from across the world must be mind boggling. The cheapest craps game is probably $25 and its probably 3 rows deep. Its definitely not a good weekend to go and feel like a high roller.

I needed to post my picks for the All Star Saturday night. Last year I went an astonishing 3-1. That may be harder to pull off than the 10-1 in the NFL playoffs.

Slam Dunk contest: Gerald Green -130. It is really his contest to lose. He is going against Nate Robinson, who shouldn't have won last year because it was the most excruciating dunk contest to watch, and two tall guys. Remember, tall guys never win the slam dunk contest.

Skills Challenge: Chris Paul +230. Wade won it last year and is the favorite this year. Paul is going in with a chip on his shoulder because he's only here because nash is hurt.

3 Point Shootout: Jason Kapono +210. He's the favorite, but in this competition, I look for a taller white guy who has a smooth stroke. Am I racist for saying that? Maybe. If you want to get risky, take Miller at +530. He could win this thing if his hair band holds up.

Shooting star challenge (such a popular event it took 5 minutes to find out who was competing): Team San Antonio +200. They won last year, and I believe Gervin still shoots the ball for fun. When he was a kid he would shoot 1,000 shots a day but he made sure to shoot them on different hoops so he didn't get accustomed to certain bounces.
